Jessica Kitzman is an interdisciplinary artist, working primarily with found textiles and domestic objects. Her work is an exploration of the self using contextual materials, revealing themes of queerness, whiteness, and the maternal. Jessica has recently exhibited work with Soo Visual Art Center, Second Shift Studios, Gamut Gallery, and the Textile Center of Minnesota. She is showing new work later this spring with queer fiber artist collective, Embodied Material, at Praxis Fiber Workshop in Cleveland, OH. She was a contributing artist in a collection of artwork and essays, β€œAn Artist and a Mother,” published in 2023 by Demeter Press. Jessica holds a BFA from the University of Iowa and an MAT from the School of Visual Arts.

Jessica lives in South Minneapolis, MN with her two children, who all share a cozy basement art studio. She is a member of Embodied Material, and teaches K-5 art.
